Here you will find all the instructions you need to set up and manage your SheerSense MiniSite.

1. Introduction

Your SheerSense MiniSite allows you to sell SheerSense products to anyone on the internet and get paid directly into your PayPal account. MiniSites can be set up in as little as five minutes.


2. Sign up for a PayPal Business account.

You will need a PayPal Business account to link to your MiniSite. If you already have one, skip this step.

We recommend you have a separate PayPal account to any personal accounts you may have, this helps to keep your business transactions separate. For this reason, it is usually a better idea to create a new account rather than upgrading one.

To create a new PayPal Business account, follow these steps:

  1. Click on this link.
  2. Enter your email address. (Note: This email address must not belong to any other PayPal account.)
  3. Enter your details ensuring you tick the box marked “I have read, consent and agree to PayPal’s User Agreement and Privacy Policy”.
  4. Click “Agree and Continue”.
  5. On the next page – enter your business type. Unless otherwise, you are likely a sole trader.
  6. Enter “Cosmetic Stores” into the “Product or service keyword” box.
  7. Click on “Cosmetic Stores”.
  8. Leave the business URL empty.
  9. Click “Continue”.
  10. Enter your date of birth into the “Date Of Birth” field.
  11. Click “Continue”.
  12. Check your email inbox for an email from PayPal with the subject “Confirm your email”.
  13. Click on the “Confirm your email” button within that email.
  14. Enter your password if it asks you to, then click on the “Confirm Email Address” button.
  15. Congratulations, you now have a PayPal Business account!

3. Create your PayPal App and link it to your MiniSite.

You will need a PayPal App to be able to link your MiniSite to your PayPal Business account.

Apps are easy to create, just follow these steps:

  1. Log out of PayPal using this link.
  2. Log in to PayPal again, ensuring you are using your new PayPal Business account, using this link.
  3. Click on this link.
  4. Click on “Live” next to where it says “Sandbox”.
  5. Click on “Create App”.
  6. Enter “SheerSense” into the app name field.
  7. Click on “Continue”.
  8. Ensure you are logged in to your SheerSense account.
  9. Click on this link.
  10. Copy and paste your “Client ID” and “Secret” from your PayPal App into their respective boxes on the SheerSense website. (Note: To view your App Secret, you will need to click “Show” when viewing your PayPal App)
  11. Enter the amount you would like to charge for shipping in the “Shipping (£)” box.
  12. Click on “Update Settings”.
  13. Congratulations, you have now linked your PayPal App to your SheerSense MiniSite and set your shipping cost!

The shipping cost for your MiniSite is the amount you would like to charge, per order, when selling on your MiniSite. The money you make on shipping will be included in the money that appears in your PayPal Activity for each order.


4. Link PayPal to your bank account and lift PayPal limits.

You will need to link PayPal to your bank account so that you can withdraw your money once you have been paid.

Follow these steps to link PayPal to your bank account:

  1. Make sure you are logged in to PayPal with your new PayPal Business account.
  2. Click on this link.
  3. Tick the boxes marked Sending limit per year, Withdrawal limit per month and Withdrawal limit per year.
  4. Click on Lift Limits.
  5. Click on Add bank account.
  6. Select either Business or Personal.
  7. Enter your bank account sort code.
  8. Enter your bank account number.
  9. Click on “Agree and Add”.
  10. Click on “Submit Pre-approved Payment Instruction”.
  11. Check your bank for a payment from PayPal. You will see this payment on your online or mobile banking or by contacting your bank.
  12. Copy or write down the 4-digit code from the reference in the PayPal transaction on your bank.
  13. Enter or paste the code into the box marked “Confirmation Code (4 digits)” in PayPal.
  14. Click on “Confirm”.
  15. PayPal should say “Your bank account has been confirmed”.
  16. Click on “Done”.
  17. Congratulations, you’re now ready to withdraw money from PayPal.

5. Update your profile.

Your existing SheerSense profile is used to display your MiniSite. You can update things like your name, bio, website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, profile photo and cover photo.

To update your profile, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are logged into your SheerSense distributor account.
  2. Click on this link to update your name, bio, website, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
  3. Enter your details into the boxes you would like to update.
  4. Click on “Update Profile”.
  5. Click on this link to edit or upload your profile photo (your main photo).
  6. Click on “Choose file” and choose an image from your computer or device that:
    1. Is 1MB or smaller.
    2. Has a width between 500 and 1500 pixels.
    3. Has a height between 500 and 1500 pixels.
    4. Is in the format of .jpg, .jpeg or .png.
  7. Click on this link to edit or upload your cover photo (the photo used at the top of your profile).
  8. Click on “Choose file” and choose an image from your computer or device that:
    1. Is 1MB or smaller.
    2. Has a width between 1200 and 1400 pixels.
    3. Has a height between 300 and 600 pixels.
    4. Is in the format of .jpg, .jpeg or .png.

6. Set your privacy settings.

With SheerSense MiniSites, you’re in control of the information you display. Setting your privacy settings is easy.

Follow these steps to set your privacy settings:

  1. Make sure you are logged into your SheerSense distributor account.
  2. Click on this link.
  3. Tick the box next to each piece of information you would like to publicly display or tick the box marked “Select/Deselect All Of The Options Below” to select/deselect all of the options at once.
  4. Click on “Update Privacy Settings” to save your settings.

7. Start selling.

Congratulations! You are now ready to start selling online. You can promote your MiniSite by sharing your profile link on social media and beyond. Your MiniSite link is https://sheersense.com/distributor/****** where ****** is your distributor ID.


8. Receive an order.

Once you have promoted your MiniSite, you should start receiving orders. When you receive an order you will be notified via email and will be able to view the order in your MiniSite using this link.


9. Process and order.

When you receive an order you will need to process it. You should pack the order, send it to the customer using your preferred shipping method (Post Office, courier, etc) then mark the order as shipped. When you mark the order as shipped an email will be sent to your customer telling them their items have been shipped, make sure you only mark an order as shipped when the item really has been shipped.

To mark an order as sent follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are logged into your SheerSense distributor account.
  2. Click on this this link.
  3. Click on the order you want to process.
  4. Under the “Distributor Actions” section, select the order status.
  5. Click on “Update”. (Note: An order status can only be changed once.)
  6. That’s it! Your customer will be notified by email of the status change and the order will now be marked accordingly.

10. View orders.

You can view all of your orders at any time by logging in to your SheerSense distributor account and clicking on this link.


11. Remove your MiniSite.
